Kid friendly

Visiting with children? No problem!  We love the younger ones to see our history and appreciate the culture.  The great openness of the district with plazas and tree lined pavements makes this a great healthy spot as well.

Seeing:

The Picasso museum is very kid friendly with separate entrances for those with young children and place to store your bags while you view the works.

Eating:

Kids sometimes struggle with the unusual foods in a new country so give them something they recognize for some meals:

  • Hard Rock Cafe Barcelona Address: Pl. Catalunya, 21, Barcelona Tel.: Tel. 932 702 305
  • Fish and Chips Barcelona Address: Rambla del Raval, 26, Barcelona Tel.: Tel: 93 441 1134

Doing:

Parc de la Ciutadella is right next to El Born and is a great green open space with many interesting facilities.  There is a special area for children near the upper margin.  Much of the park is taken up by the zoo which has a great range of animals and plants.  There is everything from Penguins to a Dolphin show.

Shopping:

  • Muna,  Flassaders, 34, trendy clothes for kids
  • ALMACEN MARABI Flassaders 30 bis El Born, Great handmade wooden toys.

Culture in el born

With it's historic and cultural traditions going back hundreds of years El Born, the Height of Barcelona, offers many sites of interest to the culture lover.

Of course merely walking the streets rich in history such as the Passeig del Born is itself an amazing cultural experience.  And the nightlife and bar scene is a form of modern culture.  But for the more traditional experience don't miss the many small art galleries in the district.
